LOWER STORAGE RATES AND REDUCED CORN SHRINK FACTOR
We have reduced our Minimum Storage rates by one cent per bushel for the second straight year. The corn minimum storage charge will be 16 cents per bushel thru January 15 and the soybean minimum storage charge will be 18 cents per bushel. We have also lowered the corn shrink factor to 1.30% from the previous 1.35%. This change will mean more bushels in your account which translates to more dollars to your bottom line.
IMPROVEMENTS FOR FALL 2017
At the Spires facility we have removed the old corn dump pits and grain legs and have taken out the hill leading up to the corn pits. We have replaced the two old dump pits with one 20,000 bph leg and pit that is long enough to dump a hopper bottom truck. We have replaced the old wet tanks with one 200,000 bushel wet tank which will give us more capacity when dumping wet corn.
At the Blackstone facility we have added a 15,000 bph grain leg and dump pit on the east end of our property which will allow us to dump corn and soybeans in separate pits as well as boost the soybean dumping capacity during harvest. We have also added a new 60’ diameter tank with a capacity of 248,000 bushels. These additions should improve the flow during bean harvest.
We are also replacing the old soybean leg at Lostant with a new 15,000 bph grain leg to increase the dumping capacity during harvest.
FALL HAULING SERVICES
We will be offering our fall trucking services this season at a rate of 10 cents per bushel on grain hauled into the closest of our facilities. We ask that you have an auger wagon or another method for loading the trucks quickly. As usual, we will schedule jobs only as the trucks become available. If trucks are not available you will have to wait until they become available. If you are interested in using this service, please give us as much notice as possible before you are ready to haul.
